The Power & Utilities team within the Energy & Power Corporate Banking in CIB is seeking a Corporate Banking Associate to join its team. The position will report through the head of Portfolio Management for Energy & Power.
The Power & Utilities Corporate Banking team is an established client coverage practice at Wells Fargo and is a part of the firm’s broader Energy & Power CIB business, focused on primarly publicly traded, regulated utilities companies. The team is comprised of experienced, sector-focused bankers and is supported by a full array of corporate and investment banking coverage and product specialists (including treasury management, commodities, interest rates, investment banking coverage, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, acquisitions & divestitures and mergers & acquisitions).
In this role, you will:
Participate in structuring and executing transactions and supporting more senior staff with financial and credit analysis for assigned portfolio of loans within Corporate Banking Relationship Management functional area
Assist with the development of client content/pitch materials, working directly with senior bankers and relevant product partners
Review and interpret credit policies and procedures and incorporate requirements into credit analysis, observations and lending recommendations
Represent the bank in developing and maintaining relationships with smaller or less complex clients
Perform or guide credit underwriting work of peers in accounting for all risk factors and providing risk rating recommendations
Collaborate and consult with peers, internal partners and stakeholders, including clients
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of Corporate Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Prior corporate banking, investment banking or capital markets experience
Willingness to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused collaborative and fast paced team environment with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results
Strong financial modeling skills
Energy and/or Power experience
Job Expectations:
Registration FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$111,100.00 - $197,500.00
