JOB DESCRIPTION:
This Business Unit Director – Microelecctrica, is responsible for OE sales growth and the overall BU performance, including P&L, through management of the BU activities
and the coordination of shared KB Rail North America Business Functions. Under the OE sales function, this role is responsible for OE Order Intake and market growth.
This includes:
- Overall responsibility for assuring that the BU System meets customer design and performance requirements, internal financial
- targets, and key performance indicators (KPl's).
- Formulating product/system market development strategy. Develop and implement marketing plans to secure new business/
- contracts for original equipment manufacturing (OEM).
- Establishing new, and maintaining current, customer relations with carbuilders, transit authorities, and consultants by developing a
- personal rapport through one-on-one contact via customer visits.
- Helping plan, direct, and lead all marketing and sales activities.
- Support the transition of awarded projects to Project Management and the KBRNA organization to ensure a smooth transition and
- to allow for the completion of projects in accordance with schedule and cost targets.
- Prepare technical and commercial tenders and tender documents.
- Negotiation of contracts with carbuilders.
Under the BU performance function, this role will monitor and drive the overall performance of the BU by:
- Acting as the single point of contact for all BU issues in communications to the CoC in Europe.
- Developing and managing annual/MOP BU Sales budgets. This includes managing the (BU) cost center budget, executing newly awarded tenders, and providing budgets, estimates, and schedules supporting proposals and existing work.
- Monitor production status and delivery performance to ensure customer satisfaction for all BU Projects/customers.
- Monitoring RMA performance.
- The critical objectives of the role are to meet or exceed the established goals and objectives such as sales, order intake, margin level, market share, customer satisfaction, and overall account development.

- Secure orders to meet the annual sales budget for the assigned markets/product line. Drive the top line growth of the business unit
- by managing and facilitating the customer relationship.
- Market Intelligence: Continuously assess market trends, customers, competitors to identify early stage opportunities with
- customers, existing and potential new customers. Give feedback to KBC on market trends, competitive landscape, market pricing
- expectations and local conditions to win.
- Customer relationship: Build and maintain strong relationships with the key customers, stakeholders, and other decision-makers.
- Ensure effective marketing communications that specify and foster KBC's value propositions. Focus on ensuring and growing LPS-HWl-003-Tl-ROO. 5. Reporting: Performs regular status reviews of shared business functions and escalates as necessary to BU management.
- Develop sales and business forecasts for the assigned region.
- Prepare proposals and offers for selected accounts and oversee the business activities for the assigned product line.
- Actively participate in and support the business planning activities.
- Will travel within North America and occasionally outside the region according to business needs.
Competencies:
- Understanding and experience with the BU Products.
- Analytical skills and understanding of sales metrics.
- Strong technical comprehension of both mechanical and electrical principles, ability to communicate with a technically oriented
- customers.
- Clear understanding of the passenger rail market in the United States, including transit authorities, car builders, competitors, and consultants.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree
8+ years of relevant experience
Minimum >5 or more years of experience in sales or business development or similar activities of technological or industry products is
required.
Knowledge of the rail transit industry is preferred.
Knowledge and application of business development methods and principles.
Knowledge of business planning and sales forecasting methods is preferred.
