Your Key Responsibilities Would Include:
- As a member of hardware team, the qualified candidate should focus on the optical module and optical component specification definition and qualification.
- Define optical system requirements according to overall system required performance in cooperation with team members.
- Responsible for Optical transceiver, optical subassembly qualification test, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting. Performs Optical/electrical measurements and analysis of Optical subsystems and components. Perform Optical performance analysis and optimization at component and system level.
- Support system level end-to-end optical performance development and optimization.
- Perform in-depth optical performance analysis and coordinate teams to debug system level issues if necessary.
- Participate in the product from design to mass production, and provide technical support in manufacturing, such as the test setup and procedures if necessary.
- Manage suppliers and ODM/OEM partners together with Global Sourcing team.
Education & Experience Necessary For Success:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in design or validation of optical systems, with MSEE degree or above, major in optical communication, optoelectronic, photonic device or EE.
- Fundamental understanding of optical transport systems, modules, and components, including optical transceivers, tuneable laser, WSS, MZ modulators, photo detector, EDFA, Raman amplifier, and coherent optical signal processing.
- Hands-on experience in testing and characterizing of laser, receiver, transceiver, transponders, optical amplifiers, wavelength management and switching products, familiar with various optical test equipment and platforms, related optical alignment, calibration etc.
- Familiar with optical transceiver MSA, IEEE802.3 and OIF specification, optical Fixed OADM, ROADM systems, linear and nonlinear impairments such as cross-talk, gain flatness, PDL, OSNR, CD, PMD, transients, XPM, SPM, FWM, high order modulation formats.
- Desirable skills:
- - Knowledge of coherent optical transceiver of 400G,800G and beyond.
- - Programming skills, Python, labview, or matlab, etc.
- - Understanding of optical component manufacturing process.
- - Knowledge of optical amplifier design and validation process.
